Original description: From the mountains of my mind, from deep sea to dark sky, how have I made it this far? These textured landscapes are created using photographs, digitally layered. Each begins with a base layer of a landscape featuring mountains. A golden disc is added to represent the heavenly feeling of being in these places. As a photographer, I have often felt limited in ability to truly represent the awesomeness of nature. In particular, the feeling of overwhelming serenity I feel when in the presence of mountains. This series is the product of a burning creativity that continuously pushes me to find new ways of using photography to represent what I could never objectively document. The micro (grasses, flora, etc) are as relevant to the experience as the view (landscape), I seek to combine these elements to better represent the experience. I hope by viewing these pieces, you too feel a sense of awe, wonder, and deep peace. Editions will always be limited, small batches.
